New York

I bought something at a store today, and the cashier asked me where I was from. I told her, and she was thrilled. She said that for her whole life, her dream has been to go to America, specifically New York. We had a 5-ish minute conversation about her dreams and why I'm in France, and afterwards she told me my French is very good. :) Finally, someone who doesn't have such a short conversation with me that the only thing I have a chance to say is misunderstood or whatever. She asked me where else she should go in the United States that I think would be interesting to her. I didn't know where to tell her! So I suggested Florida... even thought I've never been there. I figured everyone loves it there, right?

ANYWAY, my point is that contrary to popular belief, not all French people hate America. It is this woman's lifelong dream to go there! Could someone please pass the memo on to Uncle Dick? Thanks. :D
