Bienvenue!

Bonjour! Welcome to my blog.

In a week and a half I will be moving to Lure, France, which is in the region of France called Franche-Comté. I will be there until May 2011. I've never been there before and am really excited to expand my French horizons... literally.

If you look at this map, you'll see Franche-Comté in the east, bordering Switzerland. Lure itself is located northeast of Besançon, the region's capital. About 8,000 people live there. Once there, I'll be working as an English language assistant in a high school. (For those of you wondering, last time I was in the Aquitaine region, down by Spain.)

I'm leaving on Friday the 17th and am finally excited. I'm spending the next week and a half tying up loose ends here at home, but pretty much everything on the French side is ready to go. That is a relief. Something I'm really excited about is not having to drive in the snow this winter. I'm quite sure there will be snow all around me, but for once I won't have to dig my car out of it before heading to school.

Lots of people have been telling me that they want to hear from me and that I'll have to be sure to tell them all about everything! To accommodate all my fans, I made this blog. I'm hoping I'll be able to update it at least once a week. However, I don't know 100% what my internet access will be like, so I can't commit to any kind of official blog updating schedule or anything right now. Check back in often, though! My plan is to keep everyone up to date on my goings-on as much as I can. In the mean time, if you're bored, you can read my old blog, Betsy in France, from when I studied abroad in 2007.

See you there!
