In a week and a half I will be moving to Lure, France, which is in the region of France called Franche-Comté. I will be there until May 2011. I've never been there before and am really excited to expand my French horizons... literally.
If you look at this map, you'll see Franche-Comté in the east, bordering Switzerland. Lure itself is located northeast of Besançon, the region's capital. About 8,000 people live there. Once there, I'll be working as an English language assistant in a high school. (For those of you wondering, last time I was in the Aquitaine region, down by Spain.)I'm leaving on Friday the 17th and am finally excited. I'm spending the next week and a half tying up loose ends here at home, but pretty much everything on the French side is ready to go. That is a relief. Something I'm really excited about is not having to drive in the snow this winter. I'm quite sure there will be snow all around me, but for once I won't have to dig my car out of it before heading to school.
See you there!
