At work today I was reflecting, once again, on my last post. (Wow, I do a lot of thinking at work. I don't know what it is about that place, but obviously there's room for other stuff than work to be on my mind.) I realized it reminds me of a song. A rather recent song, at that. It's by a French artist called Grégoire and is called "Le même soleil," the same sun. The lyrics of the song talk about how we all have the same sun and the same moon, different skin colors, different customs, different clothing, different families, but we all have the same sun and moon. How appropriate! And actually, I intended on playing the song on the first day of school because I think it conveys the message I want students to get the most. I love how I just, without trying or even realizing it, applied that song to my own life in my last post.
And with that said, here's the awesome reality of the point I was getting at in my last post.
The moon. The same one I saw in France and Belgium and Holland and Switzerland and Germany and Italy. Right over my own back yard in Maple Grove, MN, USA. :) What a small world we live in.
